You will learn how to assist an adolescent experiencing a mental health problem or crisis using a practical, evidence-based action plan until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Real Response's Mental Health and Well-being in the Workplace course is a 4-hour face-to-face or virtual (zoom) training program designed to provide participants with a basic introduction to understanding common mental health conditions and creating a safe and supportive working environment. Participants will gain an basic understanding of common mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, and how to recognise the signs and symptoms in themselves and their colleagues. The course includes information on resources and support available to enhance mental wellness and how to access them.
Real Response's Youth Mental Health and Well-being course is a 4-hour face-to-face or virtual (zoom) training program designed for adolescents and their educators. The course aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and well-being in young people, including the factors that contribute to healthy development and the challenges that can impact mental health. Participants will learn about the impacts of mental health challenges on young people and how to support those experiencing difficulties, including common conditions such as depression and anxiety. The course covers a range of topics, including the importance of building a foundation of healthy habits (both physical and mental), the need for connection and social support, and the benefits of setting a vision for a mentally healthy life. In addition to these topics, the Youth Mental Health and Well-being course also explores the topics of suicide, eating disorders, psychosis/schizophrenia, and substance misuse. Participants will learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of these conditions in themselves and their peers and strategies for responding effectively and accessing support.
