Our Courses

Real Response’s PUAFER006 – Lead an Emergency Control Organisation course prepares participants to take command during workplace emergencies, ensuring a structured and effective response. Designed for Chief Wardens and Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) leaders, this course provides the skills to assess risks, coordinate evacuations, and communicate with emergency services. Participants will engage in simulation-enhanced training, including a simulated evacuation exercise, to build confidence in real-world emergency scenarios.

In this course, you’ll learn to:

  • Understand emergency control structures and leadership responsibilities:
    • Identify emergency types, workplace risks, and response protocols.
    • Understand the role of Chief Wardens in coordinating emergency response efforts.
  • Assess and take command in emergency situations:
    • Evaluate incidents and implement emergency control procedures.
    • Ensure the safety of all occupants and allocate emergency warden roles.
  • Coordinate and oversee site-wide evacuations:
    • Lead the evacuation process, ensuring orderly movement to designated assembly areas.
    • Manage communication systems, emergency alarms, and warden instructions.
  • Communicate with emergency services and stakeholders:
    • Liaise effectively with emergency services, workplace teams, and first responders.
    • Provide clear, timely, and accurate updates to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Review and improve emergency response procedures:
    • Participate in post-incident debriefings to evaluate response effectiveness.
    • Recognise the psychological impact of emergencies and support team well-being.
