Overview

The First Responder Tactical Trauma Course (FRTTC) prepares participants to provide first aid in a hostile environment. Following guidelines endorsed by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), the course covers the theory and practical first aid management of ballistic, penetrating and blast injuries and a range of airway management, bandaging and self-care skills. The training also features realistic re-enactments where participants will have to put their skills to the test in a simulated environment.
Prerequisites English Literacy, Physical ability – able to squat down and lift and carry up to 80kg in a group, Internet Connection

1. Understand the TECC principles
2. Understand the difference between direct & indirect threat care
3. Learn critical life saving interventions to aid oneself and others
4. Learn how to Identify a threat
5. Learn and apply a range of life-saving skills to manage catastrophic haemorrhage and chest trauma
6. Learn & apply airway management skills to a semi conscious/unconscious casualty
7. Learn how to work safely in a hostile/dynamic environment
8. Practice applying these skills during high stress/realistic simulations

Essentials of Tactical Medicine (ETM) is our entry level course to providing first aid in a hostile environment. Over the course of 4 hrs you will learn the skills and knowledge to provide life saving skills for a range of scenarios.
