• Remote First Aid (HLTAID013): This module prepares participants for providing effective first aid in remote or isolated sites. • Advanced First Aid (HLTAID014): This component advances the participant's skills in handling a range of emergency situations. It includes comprehensive training in advanced CPR techniques, managing various medical emergencies, and effective use of first aid equipment in diverse environments.
• Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015): In this section, participants learn advanced resuscitation procedures, including the use of oxygen therapy and resuscitation equipment. Outcomes

1. Advanced Emergency Management Skills:
◦ Managing unconscious, breathing, and non-breathing casualties, including infants, in various settings including remote locations.
◦ Performing CPR and using an AED effectively across different scenarios.
◦ Handling life-threatening bleeding using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings.
2. Comprehensive First Aid Techniques:
◦ Treating a wide range of conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, choking, envenomation, fractures, minor wounds, nosebleeds, shock, and various other injuries and medical emergencies.
◦ Addressing specific challenges and conditions in remote or isolated settings.
3. Advanced Resuscitation Techniques:
◦ Utilising bag-valve-mask (BVM) with oxygen in two-rescuer resuscitation scenarios.
◦ Inserting basic airway adjuncts and managing complications like regurgitation or vomiting.
◦ Administering supplemental oxygen safely and managing equipment malfunctions.
4. Simulated Incident Management:
◦ Responding to multiple simulated first aid incidents, including medical and trauma situations, without prior knowledge of the casualty's condition.
◦ Employing PPE, conducting thorough secondary surveys, assessing vital signs, and providing appropriate treatment.
◦ Effective communication with emergency services and comprehensive incident documentation.
5. Team Coordination and Triage:
◦ Coordinating a team response in multiple casualty incidents, including conducting basic triage and demonstrating effective use of resources and planning techniques.
◦ Employing safe and suitable methods for moving casualties, especially in remote settings.
6. Legal, Safety, and Equipment Knowledge:
◦ Deep understanding of ARC guidelines, infection control procedures, first aid codes of practice, and legal considerations in first aid.
◦ Knowledge of safe work practices, particularly with oxygen cylinders and associated equipment.
◦ Monitoring and coordinating the maintenance of resuscitation and oxygen therapy equipment.
7. Psychological Impact Awareness:
◦ Recognising the psychological impacts of first aid incidents on rescuers and understanding how to seek help.
